We're back from the Northwoods

Be prepared for picture overload!

Saturday night we returned from a full week at a resort "up north" - about 4.5 hours north, within an hour or so of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Lake Superior. My mom joined us for half of the trip, which helped as a diversion for the kids and it was wonderful to have her along outside of the confines of a regular old house. ;-) This first photo is of the lodge taken during our pontoon boot ride.

Katherine explains something ...

The resort is on a nice, big lake. The weather was relatively cool, as you see from many of the photos we're occasionally wearing sweatshirts. It did get warm enough for time on the beach and boating. Katherine rode in a canoe, kayak, pedal boat, ferry, cruiser, and pontoon boat on this trip.

Beach time!

Nick barely moved with the lifejacket on, very much lessening my fears that he'd jump or fall overboard.

There were also scheduled activities such as crafts and archery. In this first shot you see the tie-dyed t-shirts the campers made (there are approximately 20 cabins, all of which are occupied by employees of Trevor's company). To the right is the "big stick," as Nick called it, which you'll see more of later. ;)
