Are you ready to rumble?

We are SOOOO enjoying the new phase of Katherine and Nick's relationship - fighting! Not too long after this started, Katherine told me "Nick likes his trucks more than he likes me." Today she says that she doesn't feel like part of the family when they fight and he doesn't play well with her. We'll really have to figure out how to address this. :(

So it seems a part of this stems from the fact that she is sick of Nick constantly playing with his trucks and ignoring her. I suppose she decided the best way to get him to interact with her is to fight with him. For example, she has decided she likes trucks, although her way of "playing" with them is holding onto them and saying "Mine!" Of course, Nick thinks this is a great idea, so he likes to shout "Mine!" as well. She grabs "her" trucks from his hand. He tries to grab them back. He likes to hit and push and has figured out that pulling her hair gets a great reaction from her. She really doesn't try to hurt him ...

Ok, so what about blocks - we have two bags, they can each have one and can sit on opposite sides of the room. Well, of course, K decides that she wants to play right beside N. Nick wants to play with the cool building that K makes. Fighting, snagging and screaming ensues. When she decides they should play with blocks together she spends all her time making it clear that he cannot touch her creations. *sigh*

"Don't take another picture of me!" - this is why you see many more pictures of Nick in the blog - he's a more compliant subject. ;)

Hm, where's Katherine?
The block won't stay for poor Nick.
For your viewing pleasure - no children were seriously hurt in this video. ;)

My fave part was her looking up at the camera and smiling....LMAO. Today Ethan sat on Tristen's head when Tristen took one of his toys...sigh...sibling rivalry, not what I feel like dealing with ALL day long ;) I feel your pain on a smaller scale...

I cannot imagine what all of this "fighting" you speak of is about.

(SNORT)
Ugh, do I know.
PS
What brand of blocks are those? We need a 2nd Bday gift for Violet. So far neither of my girls has liked the small wood blocks or the huge cardboard ones. Maybe these??

M ~ Yeah, goes to show how malicious the fighting is. ;) And Ethan sat on T's head?! Whoa - trouble!

A ~ Who can forget the cat fight with V's scratched face? LOL They are Mega Blocks. We're happy with them, they stay together well without being hard to pull apart.

Oh, thank you so much for making our family feel "normal".
