Spring Break - Chicago: The food

Thursday and Friday we went to the Windy City.  What's a vacation without some exciting, fancy, or different food?  We did not succeed in going totally local, but went to places we couldn't at home.  Thursday night we went to Roy's (Hawaiian Fusion) and ate a lot of fish.  Katherine tried bites of our entrees and had a piece of (raw) sushi.  Of course we had to splurge on dessert.  Aloha!

Friday morning we ate at the hotel - the wee coffee cup made for fancy water drinking.  Note the extended pinky. Katherine chose the strawberry topped French Toast.

For lunch we chose the Grand Lux Cafe - a cousin of the Cheesecake Factory.  While we waited the kids made glasses out of Wiki Stiks.
Nicholas made glasses, too

"look at my funny face"

Appetizers included fried pickles and a skillet of Mac and Cheese.  Yum!  So sad when it's gone!  And desserts again - decorate your own chocolate cupcakes with an array of topping options.  Delish!
