We spent almost a week on Anna Maria Island in Florida - just off the Gulf coast from Bradenton, where Trevor's Grandma Alice lives. The area is known for its nice sand and great shell collecting. Trevor's parents and Courtney and Maria were able to come down too. Our flight to Tampa was cancelled, but we were able to get out on a later flight to Orlando (ugh). After a couple of extra hours in the car, we made it into AMI at around 2AM.
Fortunately, it only got better from there. Our place was across the street from the beach, so we visited everyday. We brought home some treasures from the sea - coral, sand dollars, and shells. Trevor and I had plenty of fresh seafood at some great local restaurants and kayaked in the Gulf. The weather was perfect - around 80 degrees every day with a breeze, so you didn't get too hot unless the air became still.

Katherine loved the swimming pool and can now swim short distances by herself. She's especially good at swimming underwater. Nick's favorite things to do were making sand castles (digging in the sand and destroying the castles) and taking poolside showers. Seriously. We did get out to wade in the Gulf several times, even though the water was a bit chilly.
Lots of eating and lots of time in bathing suits.
